Senior Project Manager – Healthcare Design
Location: Onsite in Boston, MA
A well-established organization in the healthcare real estate and project delivery space is seeking a Senior Project Manager-Healthcare Design to lead high-impact facility initiatives that directly support patient care, clinical operations, and long-term growth. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful capital projects, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and help shape modern healthcare environments from concept through completion. The role is ideal for a project leader who enjoys balancing strategy, design coordination, construction execution, and stakeholder alignment in a fast-moving setting.
What You Will Do
- Lead healthcare facility and capital improvement projects from early planning through construction, activation, and closeout.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality across a range of care environments, including hospital, outpatient, and medical office settings.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants to keep workstreams moving efficiently and decisions on track.
- Partner with executive leadership, clinical users, operations teams, and other stakeholders to align project outcomes with business and patient care priorities.
- Oversee due diligence, permitting, contract administration, change management, invoicing support, and status reporting.
- Anticipate project risks and develop practical mitigation plans that protect timelines, budget performance, and project quality.
- Support design review and value optimization efforts to improve constructability, long-term operational efficiency, and overall return on investment.
- Travel to project sites as needed to monitor progress, resolve field issues, and maintain strong communication across the full project team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or a related discipline.
- 7 or more years of progressive experience leading complex capital projects, preferably in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong working knowledge of project delivery processes across design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and project planning or reporting tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Boston and travel to active project locations as needed.
