A growing organization in the construction and infrastructure space is seeking a seasoned leader to guide a high impact mentorship and business development initiative for contractor partners. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to help firms scale, improve operational maturity, and prepare for larger opportunities in the public sector. The right person will bring construction industry credibility, strong business judgment, and the ability to turn assessments into practical growth strategies.

Focus

  • Lead a hands-on mentorship program that helps emerging construction firms strengthen operations, project readiness, and long-term growth.
  • Build and facilitate practical learning experiences, including workshops, coaching sessions, and business reviews tailored to contractor needs.
  • Evaluate participant firms across operations, financial health, staffing, and market strategy, then translate findings into measurable development plans.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to firms pursuing public sector work, with guidance on procurement readiness, compliance expectations, and scaling decisions.
  • Track program outcomes, maintain reporting, and partner with agency stakeholders to demonstrate contractor progress and capacity gains.
  • Coach internal and external partners with clear communication, strong organization, and a people first approach to business development.


Skill Set

  • 10 plus years of full-time experience in a construction related field, including at least 5 years leading teams, programs, or operations.
  • Experience working with NYC public agencies, with preference for work involving the NYC School Construction Authority.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to assess business performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and financial review capabilities in a construction or professional services environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a closely related discipline.
