Business Development Director

Our client is expanding its presence across defense and government markets and is looking for a high impact business development leader to help shape the next stage of growth. Focus
- Lead business development activity across defense and government accounts, with an emphasis on building qualified pipeline and advancing strategic pursuits
- Develop and grow relationships with defense prime contractors, government agencies, and key mission stakeholders
- Identify, qualify, and mature new opportunities from early-stage market engagement through capture planning and proposal support
- Translate customer priorities, acquisition timing, and market signals into actionable account plans and revenue strategies
- Partner with internal leadership and technical teams to align solutions with customer needs and competitive positioning
- Strengthen teaming and partner relationships that improve access, expand reach, and support long term growth objectives
- Represent the organization in customer meetings, industry events, and business development discussions across the defense ecosystem
- Maintain disciplined opportunity tracking, market intelligence, and follow through across the business development lifecycle
Skill Set
- Proven business development experience in defense and government markets
- Strong industry relationships across major defense contractors.
- Strong relationships across federal, state, and local government organizations.
- Track record of building relationships that lead to qualified pipeline and business growth
- Experience shaping opportunities and supporting capture efforts in complex federal environments
- Strong understanding of defense procurement cycles, stakeholder mapping, and customer engagement strategy
- Executive presence with strong communication and relationship management skills
- Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret / SCI
- Ability to travel up to 30 percent as needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
