Senior RF Design Engineer, Aerospace Systems

On site in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area

Join an organization committed to advancing aerospace and defense capabilities through the design and development of innovative microwave and RF hardware platforms. Ideal for a senior engineering professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys contributing across multiple stages of development. The role offers broad visibility across design, validation, manufacturing, and customer requirements, making it especially appealing for someone who wants to build practical hardware that moves into real world deployment.

This position offers a competitive compensation package, performance-based incentives, and the opportunity to support innovative, high-impact initiatives. This role provides broad visibility across the product development process, allowing engineers to contribute at multiple stages and make a meaningful impact on project outcomes. Qualified U.S. citizens may also be supported through the security clearance process after hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own RF and mixed signal design efforts for high reliability aerospace systems, supporting architecture, circuit development, simulation, prototype evaluation, integration, and transition into production.
  • Design and refine board level RF assemblies involving signal conversion, receiver and transmitter functions, synthesis, filtering, amplification, and related mixed signal building blocks.
  • Use industry standard design and simulation tools such as ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, MATLAB, or similar platforms to evaluate performance, analyze tradeoffs, and improve hardware execution.
  • Work closely with technical and operational stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical, effective, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Support prototype bring up, technical problem solving, verification activity, and design improvement efforts as programs mature toward release.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, proposal support, cost and schedule planning, and customer facing engineering discussions.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and help elevate practical RF hardware design capabilities across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Background designing and supporting advanced hardware solutions in environments where reliability, quality, and technical precision are paramount.
  • Background in board level RF hardware or subsystem development, with experience that goes beyond telecom planning or antenna only work.
  • Working knowledge of areas such as receivers, transmitters, local oscillators, synthesizers, mixers, filters, amplifiers, phase locked loops, and mixed signal circuitry.
  • Capable of working autonomously, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving critical development efforts to successful completion.
  • U.S. citizenship required, with ability to obtain a security clearance. Existing clearance is beneficial but not required.
