Mechanical Engineer | Medical & Aerospace Products
Location: On site in Spring Hill, FL or Greater Tampa Bay
Our client is a growing U.S. manufacturer expanding its engineering team to support highly regulated products used in mission critical environments. This is a strong opportunity for a hands on engineer who wants broad ownership across concept development, prototyping, validation, manufacturing support, and production release. Focus
- Design and refine mechanical and electromechanical components for custom products used in regulated applications
- Translate customer requirements into manufacturable concepts, detailed models, drawings, and product specifications
- Lead prototype builds, design reviews, test planning, and verification activities through production release
- Partner closely with machining, assembly, quality, and supply chain teams to improve manufacturability, cost, and performance
- Create and maintain CAD models, bills of materials, engineering records, and revision controlled documentation
- Perform engineering analysis related to thermal performance, structural behavior, tolerance stack up, and material selection
- Support root cause investigations, product improvements, and risk reduction plans across multiple active projects
- Serve as a technical resource in customer discussions and provide clear status updates to internal stakeholders
- Contribute to product quality, schedule execution, and successful handoff into manufacturing
Skill Set
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 5 plus years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong SolidWorks experience and working knowledge of GD&T and drafting best practices
- Background with DFM, BOM management, prototype development, and production support
- Experience collaborating directly with manufacturing teams in a hands on setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and timelines with strong communication skills
- Exposure to regulated quality environments such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 is valued
- Experience with motors, motion control, or other precision electromechanical assemblies is strongly preferred
- Comfort working on site and engaging regularly with production and quality teams
Preferred Background
- Medical device, aerospace, defense, or other high reliability product experience
- Familiarity with thermal analysis, structural analysis, and test validation methods
- Comfort interacting with customers and internal stakeholders on technical matters
