Director Transformers, T&D Hardware & Utility

Remote, Nationwide


A fast-moving infrastructure supply organization is expanding its national reach across utility and grid modernization markets and is looking for a commercially driven leader to help accelerate that growth. This is a high visibility opportunity to shape a strategic product segment, influence go to market direction, and win complex business tied to transformer programs, utility hardware, substation materials, and project-based supply solutions. The right person will step into a role with real autonomy, strong internal support, and the chance to build long-term customer partnerships across some of the most important infrastructure markets in the country.


What You Will Do

  • Build and expand a national sales strategy for transformers, T and D hardware, and utility infrastructure materials across investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, EPCs, and contractors.
  • Develop new business with customers involved in electric distribution, substation work, grid upgrades, renewable interconnections, industrial power projects, and related infrastructure programs.
  • Lead complex project pursuits involving bill of materials reviews, sourcing strategy, quotations, and delivery coordination for grid and substation applications.
  • Develop trusted relationships with utility buyers, procurement teams, estimators, project managers, and executive stakeholders to win repeat business and long cycle opportunities.
  • Partner with sourcing, operations, and logistics teams to solve lead time constraints, identify alternates, and support customers with project ready material packages.
  • Help shape go to market priorities by sharing field intelligence on pricing, demand trends, specifications, lead times, and competitive activity in the utility supply market.
  • Support customer needs tied to transformer programs, pole line hardware, grounding products, galvanized support materials, and other critical utility construction components.
  • Operate with urgency, ownership, and strong commercial judgment in an entrepreneurial environment where responsiveness and follow through matter.


What We Are Looking For

Candidates who will stand out in this role typically bring a track record of success in utility materials, electrical infrastructure, power equipment, T and D products, or contractor and EPC focused sales environments. This background may include work with distributors, manufacturers, manufacturers representatives, infrastructure suppliers, or other organizations serving utility and power markets.


Preferred experience includes:

  • Sales leadership or business development success in transformer, utility hardware, substation, or related infrastructure categories.
  • Working knowledge of project-based selling, RFQs, specifications, submittals, and material planning.
  • Relationships across utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, EPCs, contractors, renewable developers, or industrial power accounts.
  • Ability to open new doors, grow strategic accounts, and navigate long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a less layered environment where initiative and pace create competitive advantage.
