The Cloud & IT Infrastructure Engineer administers, maintains, and supports secure, reliable technology infrastructure with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. This role blends cloud engineering with day‑to‑day systems administration across identity, endpoints, user access, and core business technology. The engineer improves operations and automation, maintains dependable systems, and provides responsive technical support while collaborating across development, DevOps, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability
- Administer and maintain Azure VMs, Web Apps, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Front Door, networking, and related cloud resources.
- Improve monitoring, optimize performance, and proactively address issues.
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including testing and documentation.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and respond quickly to incidents.
- Partner with development and DevOps teams to support deployment pipelines and cloud best practices.
System Administration, Identity & Endpoint Management
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and enterprise software configurations.
- Manage identity and access provisioning, MFA, SSO, RBAC, group membership, and periodic access reviews.
- Configure, deploy, patch, and troubleshoot laptops, workstations, mobile devices, and peripherals using Intune and approved endpoint tools.
IT Operations & End‑User Support
- Provide hands‑on support for help desk requests, hardware/software issues, connectivity, account access, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Prepare equipment and access for new hires; manage offboarding and access changes.
- Support workstation changes, office moves, conference‑room technology, monitors, docking stations, printers, and related equipment.
- Track, deploy, recover, and maintain technology assets throughout the lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation, ticket records, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
Automation, Governance, Cost & Compliance
- Build and support automation using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM templates, and related tools.
- Apply RBAC, Azure Policy, tagging, and subscription/resource hierarchy standards.
- Support rightsizing, budgets, cost governance, and alerting.
- Apply Microsoft cloud security best practices and operate infrastructure in alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and HITRUST requirements.
Qualifications
- 4+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure VMs, Web Apps, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Front Door, Entra ID, and Intune.
- Experience with PowerShell; familiarity with Python, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar IaC tools.
- Working knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and Microsoft cloud security controls.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Front Door, WAF, DNS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Azure and hybrid environments.
- Strong task management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
Hybrid role based in Atlanta, working in‑office three days per week with flexibility as needed.
