Job Title: Head of Finance / Finance Manager

Location: Central London – 5 days per week in office

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 depending on experience

Launchpad Recruitment is working with an established Law firm in Central London to recruit a new Head of Finance / Finance Manager.

Reporting directly to the Partners, you’ll lead a small finance team and will have full ownership of the firm’s day-to-day finance operations - from billing and revenue management through to budgeting, reporting, statutory accounts and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role would suit a finance professional from a legal or partnership environment who enjoys being hands-on and involved in the detail, while also providing guidance to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

-      Oversee all day-to-day finance operations and manage a small finance team.

-      Report directly to the Partners, attending regular billing and finance meetings

-      Lead on billing, revenue management, and cashflow forecasting.

-      Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and consolidated financial reports for the Partners.

-      Provide financial analysis and insight to Partners to support with developing the financial strategy of the Firm.

-      Handle payroll, PAYE, NIC, pension payments, and salary sacrifice schemes.

-      Oversee VAT returns, submissions, and payments.

-      Management of transactional functions, including maintaining a healthy debt recovery process.

-      Monitor staff utilisation and produce relevant management reports.

-      Maintain internal financial controls in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules and regulatory standards.

-      Liaise with the firm’s bankers and external auditors as required.

-      Ensure all SRA compliance and reporting obligations are met.

-      Contribute ideas to improve systems, processes, and financial controls across the business.

Requirements

-      Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred, though QBE candidates with the right experience may also be considered.

-      Prior experience in a finance role within a legal, partnership or professional services environment.

-      Understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and regulatory compliance requirements, would be beneficial.
