Saint Vincent Academy in Newark, NJ is seeking its next Director of Advancement: an experienced fundraising leader who will lead the school's growing philanthropy program.
Founded in 1869 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, who continue to sponsor the Academy today, Saint Vincent Academy is Newark's only Catholic, college-preparatory school exclusively for young women. For more than 150 years, it has graduated women of faith, service, character and competence.
Mission: Saint Vincent Academy, founded in 1869 and sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school for women of diverse backgrounds, many of whom face societal and economic challenges. Located in Newark, New Jersey, the Academy prepares urban women to be creative participants in society by empowering them with rigorous academic learning and life-enhancing Gospel teachings.
Saint Vincent Academy is a private, Middle States accredited high school enrolling over 200 young women, with a student/teacher ratio of 8:1, a 100% graduation rate and a 100% college acceptance rate. Tuition for 2026-2027 is $6,300, and the Promise Scholars Program awards full, four-year scholarships to a cohort of qualifying ninth grade applicants.

About the Director of Advancement Opportunity
Reporting to the President, the Director of Advancement will implement and strengthen the school's fundraising plan, which includes major gifts, an annual fund, special events, an ongoing capital campaign and development operations. The Director will oversee dedicated staff, manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors, lead the Academy's signature gala and golf outing, and work in collaboration with the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with five or more years of progressive, successful fundraising experience, including major gifts, campaigns, events and endowments, and a deep commitment to advancing Saint Vincent Academy's mission, values and community. A bachelor's degree is required; nonprofit or school-based development experience and proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge are preferred.
