About the Vice President Opportunity

The Vice President for Mission and Ministry is a senior leader responsible for advancing DePaul's mission and ministry and leading its programs, services and outreach. The Vice President will provide visionary leadership so that all ministry efforts align with the university's core values, mission and long-term goals, and will integrate the mission throughout the university, from strategic planning to curricular and co-curricular life and employee orientation.

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the Vice President manages the university's relationship with the Western Province of the Congregation of the Mission and the Roman Catholic Church, and partners with the President on mission advancement. The Vice President directly manages 3–5 directors, oversees a division of 18–22 full-time employees, and ensures that the spiritual needs of the whole university community are met.

The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic who speaks from personal faith and lived experience, with demonstrated expressions of Catholicism, a deep fluency in Catholic culture and tradition, and lived familiarity with the charism of the Vincentian family around the world. Grounded in that faith, the ideal candidate will welcome and engage people of all faith traditions and none, in keeping with DePaul’s Catholic and Vincentian identity. A Master of Divinity or a master's degree in Theology or Religious Studies is required. Candidates should bring at least 15 years of leadership in mission and ministry, ideally in Catholic higher education, and proven experience in strategic planning, partnership development and staff leadership.

While the position prospectus is being created, interested candidates are encouraged to contact Kyle Pietrantonio directly to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
