The Hiring Advisors is currently partnering with a massive, rapidly expanding national distribution and industrial supply giant headquartered right here in the DFW metroplex. They are on the hunt for an Accounting Manager who loves the fast-paced world of supply chain and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves.
Let's be real: some corporate accounting roles keep you trapped in a cubicle counting hypothetical beans. Not this one.
This company literally moves the essential infrastructure that keeps American industry running. If you want a role where your financial insights directly impact a sprawling national network of branches, fabrication sites, and supply chains—keep reading.
The Blueprint: Who Are You?
- You are a CPA who survived the trial-by-fire of public accounting (Big 4/National) but transitioned to the private sector and realized you love the operational side of business.
- You look at a complex multi-state Sales & Use tax filing and don't immediately cry.
- You can seamlessly pivot from explaining high-level variance analysis to an executive, to diving head-first into a messy general ledger reconciliation.
- You actually enjoy mentoring a team and turning green staff accountants into absolute rockstars.
What You’ll Be Doing (The Ledger)
- The Daily Grind: Captaining the daily operations of the GL accounting team. You’re the quarterback making sure month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close happen seamlessly and strictly under GAAP guidelines.
- Audit & Tax Defense: Serving as the primary gatekeeper for external auditors (you speak their language, after all) and ensuring sales/use tax compliance across various jurisdictions is locked down.
- Forward-Looking Strategy: Crafting accurate cash forecasts, analyzing balance sheets, and identifying the "why" behind financial variances to help leadership make big-time strategic moves.
- System Optimization: Helping the team navigate a fast-paced, evolving environment by tightening internal controls and ensuring the ERP system is running like a finely oiled machine.
The Checklist (Must-Haves & Nice-to-Haves)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance + an active CPA designation (non-negotiable for this one!).
- 7+ years of total accounting experience, including at least 3 years explicitly managing a team. A mix of Public Accounting (Big 4/National) and private industry experience is the magic formula here.
- Previous experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or a similar heavy-inventory sector. You understand margins, supply chains, and revenue recognition for physical goods.
- You are an Excel wizard, obviously. But if you have experience with Epicor ERP products (like Eclipse or Prophet21)? You just skipped to the front of the line.
