Sr. Director of Accounting & Finance

Position Overview:

The Sr. Director will be a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, capital markets, asset management, and tax planning for the company. This role requires a seasoned financial executive with deep experience in real estate finance, capital structuring, and operational financial oversight. The Sr. Director will lead financial reporting, risk management, investment analysis, and strategic planning to drive the company’s growth and long-term financial stability. 


Key Responsibilities: 


Financial Strategy & Capital Markets: 

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives. 
  • Lead capital markets activities, including sourcing and structuring debt and equity financing for projects. 
  • Manage relationships with institutional investors, banks, and capital partners. 
  • Oversee capital allocation decisions and risk management strategies to maximize investment returns. 


Financial Planning & Reporting: 

  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across all business entities. 
  • Implement and manage internal financial controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax and regulatory reporting, including partnership structures and financial audits. 
  • Lead the transition to GAAP-based accounting and oversee financial system integrations. 


Asset Management & Investment Oversight: 

  • Provide financial leadership for acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio optimization. 
  • Evaluate asset performance, develop investment strategies, and execute financial modeling for real estate transactions. 
  • Lead due diligence and financial negotiations for major development projects and property transactions. 
  • Oversee property management financial operations, leasing strategies, and construction budgeting. 


Leadership & Team Management: 

  • Manage and mentor a team of controllers, financial analysts, and accounting professionals. 
  • Collaborate with development, construction, and property management teams to ensure financial objectives align with business operations. 
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial and strategic matters. 


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and a Master’s degree. 
  • CPA and/or CCIM designation. 
  • 10+ years of experience in real estate finance, accounting, and capital markets. 
  • Proven track record in securing and structuring complex real estate debt and equity financing. 
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic planning skills. 
  • Proficiency in financial software, including Yardi, MRI, ARGUS, and advanced Excel modeling.
