Interim Global Real Estate & Facilities Lead (FTC)

💰 £110,000 to £140,000 + £25,000 bonus (pro rata)

📍 UK based with potential for a little international travel, high flexibility around office and home working.

Company & role

This is a global IT solutions provider operating across a complex international footprint of 20+ offices. They are going through a significant period of transformation and need a senior operator to take full ownership of their global real estate and workplace strategy on an interim basis.

This is not a steady state role. It is about stepping into a fragmented global estate, bringing structure, commercial rigour, and building something that lasts beyond your contract.

You will own the full lifecycle of the global office portfolio while designing a lean, scalable facilities capability that can run without heavy overhead once you step away.

This is a fixed term contract running through to the end of March 2027, giving you the runway to deliver meaningful change rather than just quick wins.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is one for people who have genuinely operated at scale. If your experience is limited to a handful of UK offices or purely operational FM, this will feel like a stretch too far.

If, however, you have led global estates, negotiated complex leases across multiple regions, and built operating models from scratch, this is exactly your kind of challenge.

You will have the autonomy to make decisions, the backing to drive change, and a clear mandate to leave the business in a better place than you found it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a global office portfolio across 20+ locations, managing renewals, exits, and new site sourcing
  • Lead lease negotiations and commercial discussions with landlords, brokers, and workspace providers
  • Bring control and visibility to all real estate data, contracts, and key dates, creating a single source of truth
  • Design and implement a lean global facilities model that reduces cost without compromising standards
  • Establish scalable processes for maintenance, vendor management, and workplace operations
  • Act as the senior escalation point for all facilities and workplace related issues globally
  • Build reporting frameworks to track cost, performance, and service delivery across all locations
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, efficiencies, and workplace improvements across the estate
  • Prepare the full operating model, documentation, and governance for a clean handover into BAU

Ideal Experience

  • Proven track record managing a global or highly distributed office portfolio, not just regional or single country exposure
  • Strong experience leading lease negotiations and managing complex commercial agreements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Background in both real estate strategy and hands on facilities operations
  • Experience building operating models, governance frameworks, and processes from the ground up
  • Commercially sharp with experience managing significant budgets and driving cost optimisation
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and taking ownership in a fast moving, transformation environment
  • Confident stakeholder manager able to influence senior leadership and external partners globally

If you have been the person brought in to sort out a messy global estate before, this will feel very familiar. If not, this probably is not the one to learn on.
