Company & role
This opportunity sits with a long established, employee owned Microsoft consultancy and managed services provider. They work across Microsoft 365 and Modern Work, Power Platform, Azure, identity and data, alongside an application development practice and a sizeable managed services function, delivering into enterprise and professional services customers.
The sales team has been rebuilt over the last two years and is still growing, with a senior account manager for public sector and a finance sector hire both joining shortly. This role exists to feed that team with qualified pipeline.
It is a genuine mix of proactive outbound and warm follow up. Marketing runs campaigns, webinars and events that generate real interest to work, and you will be given the legal sector as your focus rather than calling anything that moves.
They are also clear this is not a throwaway seat. They want someone whose career they can map out, with a route into business development or account management, and there is already someone in the team who has made exactly that move.
Why This Role Stands Out
- A defined progression route into business development or account management, planned from the outset rather than dangled
- Warm leads as well as cold outbound, with marketing campaigns, webinars and events generating genuine interest to work
- An employee owned business, so the growth you help create is shared rather than just reported upwards
- A named sector to own in the legal market, which gives you a focused story and a real reason to be calling
- A sales team rebuilt over two years and still hiring, so you join with momentum behind you rather than inheriting a tired patch
- The commission structure is being designed right now, so there is a real chance to shape what good looks like
Key Responsibilities
- Generate qualified meetings for the wider sales team, which is the primary measure of success in this role
- Run proactive outbound by phone and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, alongside whatever prospecting tooling you work best with
- Follow up leads from marketing campaigns, webinars and events and convert interest into booked conversations
- Build and work a named sector focus, with the legal market as the early priority
- Qualify properly, so senior salespeople walk into conversations that are worth their time
- Keep CRM records accurate and useful, working in Dynamics 365 with full training provided
- Work closely with sales leadership and marketing to shape target lists and messaging
Ideal Experience
- Some commercial experience already behind you. This is not a first job in sales
- A background selling technology of some kind, whether SaaS, IT services, cloud, cyber security or data. Microsoft specific experience is not required
- Comfortable with high volume outbound and everything that comes with it, including being told no
- Confident on the phone, personable, and able to hold a relevant conversation rather than read a script
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools
- Organised with CRM discipline, or at least willing to build it properly
- Real ambition to move into a full business development or account management role
If you are good on the phone, want a sector you can actually get your teeth into, and want the next step mapped out rather than vaguely promised, this one is worth a conversation.
