IT Support Engineer (Networking Focus) - Sheffield, £40–45k

Our client, based in Sheffield, is looking for an IT Support Engineer with strong networking skills to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with solid Tier 2 support experience who is looking to expand their expertise in networking and infrastructure. You’ll play a key part in supporting day-to-day operations, while also contributing to projects that enhance and modernise the company’s IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 support for IT and network issues, ensuring incidents are resolved within agreed timescales.
• Assist with the configuration, monitoring, and optimisation of networking and security systems.
• Support the rollout of infrastructure improvements, including cloud and security technologies.
• Work closely with senior engineers on larger projects, building your skills in advanced networking.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure changes follow internal processes.

About You

• Previous experience providing Tier 2 IT support, with exposure to networking technologies.
• Knowledge of Cisco or similar networking systems (formal certification beneficial but not essential).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across networks and general IT.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• A willingness to learn and develop your networking expertise further.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
