About Our Client:

Our client is a leading innovator in next-generation battery materials and is currently engaged in a high-priority international partnership to support the deployment of a solid-state battery pilot line. As part of this initiative, they are working with SK Group to set up an advanced battery cell manufacturing line in Daejeon, South Korea.

To support this effort, they are seeking an experienced On-Site Project Manager for a 6-month contract to act as the primary driver of execution on the ground. This is a mission-critical role in a fast-paced environment—ideal for someone who thrives in high-urgency, cross-cultural, and technically complex projects.

Position Overview:

The On-Site Project Manager will lead daily coordination and project execution at the Daejeon facility. They will serve as the central point of contact between internal teams, external contractors, and the customer. The goal: to ensure the successful setup, integration, and commissioning of a battery cell pilot production line.

Due to the fixed-term nature of this assignment, our client is moving quickly to fill the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage on-site installation of a battery cell pilot line on behalf of a key strategic partner (SK Group)
• Act as the daily liaison across internal stakeholders, contractors, and the customer team
• Monitor site activities and subcontractor performance; resolve bottlenecks in real time
• Track all change orders, technical issues, and deployment milestones
• Attend equipment testing (SAT) and ensure technical compliance and documentation
• Coordinate logistics, material deliveries, and worksite access
• Provide structured daily/weekly reporting on site progress and issues
• Maintain adherence to safety and regulatory standards on site
• Ensure permits and documentation are properly managed and logged

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or engineering discipline
• 8+ years in process, manufacturing, or engineering environments
• 2+ years of battery industry experience (preferred: pilot line or equipment deployment)
• 3+ years of field-based project management or site deployment experience
• Fluency in both Korean and English
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience managing international teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with structured reporting and change logs
• Must be available for full-time on-site deployment beginning Q4 2025

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
• Experience working with battery equipment vendors or automation suppliers
• Prior work on global pilot lines or early-stage manufacturing deployments
