The Director of Accounting will oversee all accounting operations across the company, leading both the General Accounting and Project Accounting teams. This is a high-impact leadership role with significant opportunity for personal and professional growth, sitting at the intersection of technical accounting, compliance, and operational excellence.


Responsibilities

•      Oversee and manage all recurring and periodic accounting activities including month-end close, intercompany settlements, financial consolidations and eliminations, balance sheet reconciliations, standard financial reporting, and project invoicing and collections.

•      Manage multiple Costpoint ledgers, ensuring proper alignment of transactions to the correct legal entity.

•      Supervise Costpoint project setup and ongoing maintenance.

•      Lead technical accounting activities including lease accounting, and coordination with external experts on purchase and transaction accounting and transfer pricing.

•      Support domestic and foreign tax and legal filings.

•      Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.

•      Manage and maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for accounting, cash, and credit management.

•      Support external and internal audits, DCAA submissions, and other external data requests.

•      Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes with a strong focus on automation and efficiency.


Qualifications

•      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.

•      7+ years of relevant management experience within an accounting organization.

•      5+ years of recent US Government contracting experience, including strong working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and SCA (may be concurrent with management experience).

•      Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and mentor teams.

•      Strong proficiency with Deltek Costpoint and COGNOS required; proficiency with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is a plus.

•      Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

•      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•      Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

•      Ability to travel as needed.


Preferred Experience

•      Prior M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration experience.

•      Experience supporting DCAA audits and navigating complex government compliance environments.

•      Background in global-scale logistics, facilities management, or professional and technical services industries.

•      Experience leading accounting teams through ERP implementations or system migrations.
