WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Senior SEO Specialist who can take full ownership of our SEO function and rebuild it in-house. This is not a task-based role—you will be responsible for stabilizing current performance, replacing a white-label partner, and evolving how we deliver SEO as a service.


You should have experience operating in an agency environment and understand how to structure, prioritize, and scale SEO across multiple client accounts. You’re comfortable balancing strategy and execution—especially in the early stages of building and stabilizing an in-house SEO function.


IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Own SEO delivery across ~15-30 client accounts (primarily local service businesses)
  • Lead the transition from a white-label SEO partner to an in-house model
  • Audit existing strategies and identify gaps across technical, on-site, and off-site SEO
  • Define and implement a more effective SEO approach, reducing reliance on low-quality backlinks
  • Execute and oversee recurring SEO deliverables across accounts, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Conduct keyword research and manage targeting aligned with client goals
  • Partner with the internal content specialist to produce and optimize SEO content (1–3 articles/month per client)
  • Direct technical SEO initiatives alongside the in-house web developer (audits, fixes, improvements)
  • Manage local SEO performance, including Google Business Profile optimization, posting cadence, and review workflows
  • Build and refine backlink strategies focused on sustainable, higher-quality authority
  • Own reporting, performance insights, and client communication


YOU’LL SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE

  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience in an agency or multi-client environment
  • Experience owning or significantly improving SEO programs—not just executing tasks
  • Strong understanding of local SEO and lead-generation-focused strategies
  • Ability to audit, prioritize, and rebuild SEO systems with minimal oversight
  • Experience working cross-functionally with content and development teams
  • Confidence in client-facing communication and strategic guidance
  • Proficiency with tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and GSC
  • A strong ownership mindset—you take responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables



NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience bringing SEO in-house from a vendor or white-label partner
  • Familiarity with GBP automation or local SEO tooling
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for technical fixes
  • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Exposure to AI-driven SEO workflows or emerging search trends
