Role: SEO Specialist

Location: Remote (LATAM)

Rate: $2,000–$2,500/month

Benefits: PTO and Holiday Calendar

Company: Nerder

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Nerder is a quickly growing web development agency that works with and provides coding support for websites, e-commerce sites, and custom-coded web applications. We work with a variety of clients, including both creative agencies and brands across both Canada and the US.

We enjoy challenges and the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and learn new technologies. Our team is supportive and collaborative, always pushing each other to grow and improve. We believe that success comes from focusing on our people, creating an environment that is enjoyable and challenging, and doing interesting and meaningful work together.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a hands-on SEO Specialist who can execute strong SEO work under the direction of our SEO Lead—while also thinking critically and speaking up when something doesn’t add up. You’ll thrive here if you can adapt your strategy across very different clients (from local brick-and-mortar to large enterprise) and communicate clearly with both technical teammates and non-technical stakeholders.

A non-negotiable: your spoken and written English must be excellent. You’ll be expected to explain complex SEO and analytics concepts to clients in a way that’s accurate, calm, and easy to understand.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Execute SEO strategies aligned with client business goals (leads, sales, visibility)
  • Conduct technical, on-page, and content SEO audits
  • Perform keyword research, competitive analysis, and opportunity mapping
  • Implement on-page and technical optimizations (directly or in collaboration with developers)
  • Analyze performance using Google Search Console, GA4, and other tools
  • Prepare and contribute to client reporting, insights, and recommendations
  • Support Local SEO initiatives, including Google Business Profile optimization
  • Stay current with SEO trends, algorithm changes, and emerging technologies
  • Experiment with new tools, workflows, and approaches, and share learnings with the team
  • Collaborate closely with a supportive team that values direct communication, critical thinking, and continuous improvement

YOU’LL SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency experience is a strong plus; 5+ ideal, but we’ll consider 3–5 for the right person)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Google Search Console
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4 and how to use data to guide decisions
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and analytics setup/cleanup
  • Experience with Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar SEO tools
  • Comfort working with large datasets in Google Sheets / Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to translate technical SEO into client-friendly language
  • A “think-first” mindset: you don’t just follow a checklist, you understand why you’re doing something
  • Confidence to challenge ideas constructively (not a head-nodder), with a collaborative team-first approach

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience building or contributing to Looker Studio dashboards
  • Experience with Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
  • Experience with BigQuery (this is a major plus)
  • You use and experiment with AI tools to improve workflows, analysis, or automation
  • Interest in improving internal processes, templates, and systems—and curiosity about how things work under the hood

WHY JOIN THIS TEAM

You’ll work on a wide variety of SEO challenges across industries, from smaller local businesses to larger organizations—meaning you’ll never be stuck doing the same playbook on repeat. Nerder values people who think deeply, communicate directly, and continuously improve how work gets done. If you want to grow your technical SEO and analytics depth while being treated like a real part of the team, this is a strong fit.
