Chaloner has partnered with Agog on the search for a Labs and Residencies Manager to join their team. This role is hybrid from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or Seattle.

The Role
The Labs and Residencies Manager will build, scale, and oversee our labs, residencies, and future educational initiatives, acting as a key ambassador to build meaningful relationships with partner organizations and deliver exceptional, high-touch experiences for all lab attendees. Reporting to the Director of Programs, this person will lead curriculum development and manage participant and partner experience. They will also synthesize program insights into recommendations that strengthen Agog's future educational initiatives. This person will manage Agog's relationships with current and prospective residency and fellowship partners, ensuring funded programs align with Agog's mission and learning goals. They will work cross-functionally with Programs, Production, and Marketing & Communications teams to align strategy, operations, and storytelling efforts, ensuring immersive educational experiences are delivered seamlessly from design through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Immersive-Media Creator Labs
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of Agog’s labs, including host partner coordination, participant selection, materials, and logistics.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for lab partners, such as universities and emerging-tech incubator programs, ensuring strong communication, alignment, and successful program delivery.
- Partner with the Director of Programs, Head of Production, and subject-matter experts to coordinate curriculum development and delivery.
- Facilitate immersive-media educational experiences that create a welcoming, engaging environment for participants.
- Analyze participant feedback, program outcomes, and operational learnings to identify trends and recommend improvements to future programs, curriculum, and partnerships.
Residencies and Fellowships
- Manage relationships with current and prospective residency and fellowship hosts to ensure alignment with Agog's mission and program goals.
- Collaborate with residency and fellowship hosts to advise on programming and source subject-matter experts when appropriate.
- Source and/or evaluate opportunities for new residency or fellowship partnerships.
- Coordinate with the grants team to track grant requirements, deliverables, and outcomes for Agog-supported residencies and fellowships.
Participant Engagement
- Develop and manage a pipeline of potential nominees for immersive educational opportunities.
- Design and manage the alumni experience of participants in Agog-related immersive-media trainings, cultivating an engaged network of creators and identifying opportunities for continued collaboration.
Program Resources & Communications
- Partner with cross-functional teams at Agog to develop training resources, toolkits, and supporting program materials.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent messaging, collect participant stories, develop case studies, and share program insights.
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing XR training programs, adult-education programs, or other related work
- Proven ability to develop and manage partnerships
- Familiarity with XR production techniques (e.g., Gaussian splatting, 360° video)
- Genuine interest in XR/immersive media and its use for social impact
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort learning new technology platforms and tools
- Experience with project management tools (Asana, Notion, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving
- Interest or background in Agog's focus areas: climate, racial equity, Indigenous knowledge, or journalism
Salary: $150,000–$165,000 annually
