We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, Senior Vice President to join the L@B, GSG’s in-house creative and media agency. The SVP will represent the firm throughout the new business process and be responsible for closing business. Candidates must have a strong passion for sales, with a proven track record in selling advertising and/or creative services.  In addition to closing new net business, a successful SVP will help grow our business through maintaining client relationships, driving client renewals, and upselling GSG services. The ideal candidate will have a mature network and will bring additional opportunities to the firm. 

 

This is a new role that will report directly to the President of the Communications and Public Affairs practice. 


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sales process for L@B clients: from taking introductory and new business meetings to helping retain clients and finding new buying centers within their business. 
  • Foster relationships with clients, prospective clients, and network to sell and upsell creative and media services.
  • Work closely with creative and media team members, as well as GSG’s new business support team, to deliver impactful presentations and proposals, lead L@B capabilities presentations and pitches, and lead/participate in cross-practice sales opportunities.
  • Use existing industry contacts and clients to find new business opportunities from start to close. 
  • Cultivate relationships with senior-level clients, serving as a trusted contact and anticipating their evolving needs.
  • Partner with the L@B Managing Director and Executive Creative Director to develop and execute a vision for L@B growth.
  • Interface with the L@B creative team to develop pitch concepts. 
  • Learn and make recommendations on service offerings for the L@B to grow the business. 
  • Foster a positive and high-performing team environment, providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth to junior team members.


Requirements:

  • At least 12 years of experience with a minimum of 7 years in sales/business development or in a related position.
  • The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of achieving specific sales targets and be prepared to share relevant examples. 
  • In-depth understanding of and experience selling creative, content strategy, and/or advertising across channels including digital, social media, television, out-of-home, and print, among others. 
  • Familiarity with production and the creative development process.
  • Experience working with public affairs decision makers in highly regulated industries, trade associations, and advocacy organizations is a plus. 
  • Outstanding persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring a high-quality work product. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization, prioritization, and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation. 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an agency environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with public affairs decision makers in highly regulated industries, trade associations, and advocacy organizations is a plus. 


The base salary for this position is between $170,000 to $225,000 commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and/or commission.
