Role Description: We are seeking an Assistant Land Surveyor/PLS located at our El Paso Office. The successful candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience after licensure (PLS) in all phases of land surveying, construction, boundary and topographic surveying. Duties:
- Support and manage survey staff of 5 senior Survey Party Chiefs with chain/rod men assistants.
- Provide project management and technical oversight for: topo mapping (drone and ground), platting, boundary, ALTA, and construction staking efforts.
- Manages and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including drones, scanners, levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment, Trimble Business Center, and data collectors.
- Knowledge of Trimble field equipment and data collector software.
- Manage CADD drafting efforts for plats.
- Prepare and finalize plats for public and private clients.
- Download and upload survey data to and from field staff.
- Oversee drone ortho-image and topographic surveys.
- Mentor and train survey staff and provide QC mentorship.
- Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of staff vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications:
- PLS in Texas with 5+ years’ experience.
- Associate's degree.
- Working knowledge of surveying.
- Highly motivated.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage survey crews performing topo, boundary and construction staking.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment.
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Autodesk Civil 3D, Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.) and other similar software used in surveying.
- Valid Driver’s License.
