Summary / Primary Role:   

The position of Warehouse Manager will have primary responsibility to safely manage warehouse and office operations to ensure customer needs and company productivity levels are met through effective leadership of delegated customer service and warehouse personnel. 


Essential Functions: 

  • Implement goals, standards and objectives of the division and for delegated employees. 
  • Monitor and manage warehouse and office personnel to ensure safe working environment, and productivity requirements are met. 
  • Ensure safe working conditions in office/ warehouse and adherence to all Federal, State, local, and OSHA regulations including regulations for personal protective equipment. 
  • Monitor and report needs for any building, equipment and tool replacement or repairs. 
  • Develop and/or adhere to budgets and monitor to ensure expenses to not exceed. 
  • Supervise and assist in daily warehouse operations including; crane and forklift operation, product inspection, shipping, receiving, storage. Ensuring inventory transactions are accurately completed through scanning procedures. 
  • Track, record, monitor employee attendance, vacation, sick days and performance. 
  • Track, record, monitor maintenance and inspections of operating equipment to ensure safety and compliance. 
  • Ensure all personnel are adequately trained for positions, are familiar with safety regulations, have appropriate personal protective gear, and are cross trained with peers. 
  • Document all training programs attended, certifications received by delegated personnel. 
  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations in accordance with company policy. 
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet customer demands, production schedules, work flow, vacations, etc.  
  • Periodically audit warehouse procedures and make necessary changes to ensure work instructions comply with warehouse activities, objectives, and safety requirements. 
  • Follow company guidelines and procedures for the safe loading and unloading material. 
  • Pull work orders, receive and ship product through inbound/outbound scan process 
  • Inspect material and make notations of any exceptions and or damages for all inbound and outbound shipments. 
  • Actively communicate with customers, vendors, management and employees of performance metrics, standards and policy changes to maintain high standard of service. 
  • Facilitate management and safety/quality meetings monthly. 
  • Organize material and manage inventory accuracy and conduct audits.  
  • Document and communication to management all incident, accidents, claims, employee disciplinary and performance issues in accordance to regulations and company policy.  
  • Communicate with truck drivers. 
  • Ensure equipment is not overloaded and follows federal guidelines. 
  • Use company guidelines, instructions, policies, procedures, and follow OSHA regulations in the performance of all job functions. 
  • Evaluate and recommend processes and procedures to ensure quality of service 
  • Ensure inventory and material is stored safely and blocked properly. 
  • Ensure work environment and areas are clean 
  • Complete daily paperwork and record data. 
  • Participate in meetings, and on committees as instructed or needed. 
  • Participate, and have employees participate in cross training, development programs and obtain any certifications as need or requested by management.

Job Specifications: 

  •  High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role and environment is required. 
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience is required.  
  • Experience with forklifts, over-head cranes, metal cutting devices, and hand held RFID scanners is required. 
  • Microsoft Office literate with ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute. 
  • Previous experience with AS400 systems and OSHA regulations is preferred.

Work Environment: 

This job is located indoors and outdoors, with exposure to adverse conditions such as inclement weather, dust, loud noise, heat, cold, and wind. Exposure to chemicals; moving machinery, vehicles, and equipment; fumes; gases; petroleum; products; fire and electrical hazards; and confined spaces.   


Supervisory Responsibility:  

This position has supervisory oversight of the warehouse of office employees at designated location. 


Expected Hours of Work:  

Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with some overtime required as scheduled.  Any person within this position must be flexible to work varying hours, including nights, and weekends as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate with others via email, phone and in person.  The employee must to accomplish the tasks at hand.  Must have ability for sight, depth and peripheral vision, and color distinction. The employee must have ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, bend, reach, stretch, and use fingers with demanding manual dexterity for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds on a regular basis, and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Use of personal protective equipment is required.
