Our Pearl City, HI terminal plays a crucial role in supporting integrated marine logistics throughout the Pacific. As our operations grow, we’re seeking a skilled and safety-driven Warehouse Specialist to join our team and help maintain excellence in warehouse and terminal operations.


Location:

This position is based in Pearl City, Hawai‘i.


Schedule:

Full-time position averaging 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.


Pay: $18-$20/hr

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.




About the Job:

As a Warehouse Specialist, you’ll assist with the day-to-day operations of our terminal, including organizing, loading, and unloading freight — some of which may include hazardous materials. This position requires a combination of hands-on work and operational coordination to ensure efficient warehouse activity, safe cargo handling, and high-quality service to our customers.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Safely load and unload cargo, including heavy or bulky materials, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Secure freight using proper techniques, including blocking, bracing, and dunnage placement.
  • Receive, tag, mark, and store incoming goods according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform inventory control and maintain quality records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Accurately count and document stock received, transferred, and shipped.
  • Assist in load planning and prepare projections for outbound shipments.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Utilize computer systems for shipment tracking, inventory control, driver check-ins, and dispatch assistance.
  • Present and participate in pre-shift or safety meetings to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and efficiency in completing daily tasks.
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by management.
  • Coach and Train dock staff on proper loading techniques
  • Assign work detail to dock handlers and drivers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6–18 months of relevant warehouse or terminal experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, shipping documents, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Proficiency in basic math and measurement conversions.
  • Ability to create freight bills from bills of lading to assist with billing.
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Materials certification (company-provided if not current).
  • Proven ability to maintain a strong safety record and dependable attendance.

Desired:

  • Prior experience in marine logistics, terminal operations, or freight forwarding.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with Nextel or dispatch communication systems.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a terminal and warehouse environment, with exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and variable weather conditions. Safety gear, including PPE, is required at all times.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move freight up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Visual and auditory acuity for safety awareness and operational accuracy.
