Location:

This is a remote-based role within the United States.


Schedule:

  • Full-time, exempt position (average 40 hours per week)
  • Minimum 30 hours per week required to maintain full-time benefits eligibility
  • Some overtime as scheduled
  • Approximately 25% travel required


Compensation

Salary Range : $76k-121k annually ( depending on experience)



Summary / Primary Role

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business growth by acquiring new enterprise clients and expanding opportunities within strategic accounts. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for SAAS TMS and 3rd party transportation solutions across a variety of industries. Acting as a trusted advisor and consultative partner, the Sales Manager will leverage deep logistics expertise to cross-sell Odyssey’s multi-modal transportation services and value-added solutions, while consistently achieving assigned net revenue targets.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned net revenue goals through profitable new logo acquisition.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan focused on driving new SAAS TMS and 3rdy party transportation solutions business across targeted verticals.
  • Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline by identifying, pursuing, and nurturing opportunities across Odyssey’s full suite of logistics services.
  • Apply a consultative sales approach to engage prospective clients, understand their logistics challenges, and develop tailored, value-driven solutions.
  • Clearly articulate Odyssey’s value proposition, differentiating its capabilities in multi-modal transportation technology solutions, cost optimization, and supply chain visibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with economic buyers and executive stakeholders across complex buying committees within mid-market to enterprise-level organizations.
  • Lead and manage the sales process from initial outreach through solution development, proposal delivery, contract negotiation, and close.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership to structure competitive offers and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of Odyssey’s solution portfolio and evolving industry trends to proactively identify client needs and cross-sell complementary services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, forecasts, and opportunity status within Salesforce CRM.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership in progressing opportunities and resolving client issues to drive outcomes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Operations, IT, Pricing, etc.) to ensure alignment and remove barriers to success.
  • Participate in strategic projects and other duties as assigned to support team and company goals.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ Years of proven success selling SAAS TMS solutions to middle market & large enterprise accounts.
  • 5+ Years of experience in 3rd party multi-modal transportation solutions, including Truckload (TL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Partial Truckload, Tank Truck, and Expedited services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cross-selling complex logistics solutions within large, matrixed industrial organizations.
  • Strong “Hunter” mentality with a consistent record of exceeding sales targets in solution-based selling environments.
  • Adept at developing innovative, client-specific logistics strategies that solve operational challenges and drive efficiency.
  • Deep understanding of the sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting through proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Skilled in preparing financial models and ROI-based proposals that align with client objectives and internal margin targets.
  • Experience leading or collaborating on complex contract negotiations, including coordination with legal and procurement stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and credibility with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges, assess opportunities, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite audiences.
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com, PowerPoint, Excel, and other key tools required for reporting, pipeline management, and presentations.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments; self-starter with a bias for action and results.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required to support business development and client engagement.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory oversight.

           

Expected Hours of Work:

Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with overtime required as scheduled.

 

Travel Requirements: 

Approximately 25% of travel required.

Must lift up to 50 lbs., sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, reach above head for files, grasp, handle, and use hands/fingers to operate office equipment. Must operate normal office equipment such as phone, computer, fax machine, and copy machine.
