Non-CDL Driver / Crew Leader – Moving & Storage

Job Type: Local, On-Site | Full-Time
Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: Average 40 hours/week (minimum 30 hours to maintain full-time benefits; overtime as required)
Position Overview
Odyssey International Services is seeking a Non-CDL Driver / Crew Leader to support our Household Goods Moving & Storage operations in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for safely operating company vehicles, leading moving crews, and delivering high-quality service to military, residential, and government customers.
This role is local only—no long-haul driving—and offers consistent work, strong pay, seasonal incentives, and full benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (box trucks, vans, and pickup trucks) to and from job sites
- Lead and supervise moving crews of 1–4 employees
- Perform hands-on moving, packing, loading, and unloading of household goods
- Serve as the primary point of contact on job sites for customers and dispatch
- Communicate directly with dispatch via phone or radio
- Ensure proper paperwork, job documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Operate in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures as low as -50°F
- Install and remove tire chains as required
- Maintain safety standards and represent the company professionally at all times
Equipment & Work Environment
- Company vehicles provided (automatic transmission)
- Local operations within the greater Fairbanks area
- Multiple job sites per day depending on assignments
- Extreme cold weather exposure (up to -50°F)
- Physically demanding, safety-sensitive role
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history
- Customer-facing service experience
- Ability to lift heavy items consistently
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to pass:
- Pre-employment physical
- Background check (no felony convictions)
- 5-panel drug test (including marijuana)
- Ability to obtain an ICC medical card
Preferred:
- Moving, packing, or household goods experience
- Crew leadership or lead mover experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
