About the Job:


The position of Customer Service Representative is directly responsible for performing service functions as outlined below for customers, carriers, drivers and employees of the warehouse facility in a professional and timely fashion. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensure safe working conditions in officeand adherence to OSHA regulations 
  • Ensure work spaceand office conditions maintainclean, professional appearance. 
  • Maintain databases to ensure accuratecustomer, vendor information is entered and current 
  • Build computerized distribution lists 
  • Create customer inventory activity reports 
  • Create and distribute daily warehouse reports of material to ship. 
  • Receive products into inventory; monitor inventory; report inventory levels to customers. 
  • Assess customer needs, answer incoming calls, and address complaints 
  • Schedule all inbound and outbound truck and rail activities within the system(s). 
  • Schedule and confirm appointments as needed. 
  • Verify and confirm pick up and/or delivery of customer product. 
  • Dispatch orders, provide paperwork and instructions to drivers, and vendors 
  • Customer invoicing 
  • EDI/ ASN transmissions and tracking. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with warehouse employees, other departments and divisions. 
  • Record incidents, accidents, service failures, and claims.  
  • Participate in cross training and continuing education functions as needed to stay informed with company and industry trends, or as requested by management. 
  • Participate in meetings and on committees as requested

Job Specifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required 
  • Associate Degreein related field is preferred. 
  • One yearwork history in similarrole and environment is preferred. 
  • Must be literate in Microsoft Office software programs and be able to type a minimum of 35 worksper minute.

Work Environment: 

This job operatespredominately inanindooroffice environmentwith some exposure to the warehouseenvironmentwith some exposure to noise, vibration, particles, fumes, and temperature variations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines,and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required toeffectively communicate with others via email,phoneand in person. The employee must frequently use hands and fingers to use computers, calculators, write letters, sign documentsand pick up files in the course of work. The employee is frequentlyrequired to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the inside of an office to access filecabinets, office machineryand other equipment necessary to accomplishthe tasks at hand. The employee is regularly required toposition oneself to move and/or access files or other necessary equipment, and is rarely requiredto crouch, crawl climb or balance.
