Based in Chesterton, IN, Odyssey Transport & Warehouse is expanding its shop operations to support growing maintenance and fabrication needs. We’re seeking a skilled Structural Welder/Fabricator to join our dedicated team and help us maintain the high standards of safety, quality, and performance our clients rely on.
Location:
This is an on-site position based in Chesterton, IN, USA.
No travel is required for this role.
Schedule:
Full-time, averaging 40 hours per week (minimum 30 hours required to maintain benefits eligibility).
About the Job:
As a Structural Welder/Fabricator, you’ll fabricate and assemble metal structures and components using a variety of welding techniques and tools. You’ll interpret blueprints, ensure precision in every weld, and play a vital role in maintaining and repairing equipment critical to our operations. This is a hands-on position for someone who values craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic industrial setting.
In This Role, You Will:
- Set up and operate welding machines, selecting appropriate techniques for various metals.
- Inspect welds to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with specifications.
- Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Arc welding on steel and aluminum.
- Grind, cut, and finish welds to required specifications.
- Repair and maintain metal structures and equipment as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE at all times.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
- Keep management informed on the status of major repairs or fabrication work.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (technical/vocational welding training preferred).
- 1–3+ years of proven experience as a welder/fabricator.
- Proficient with electrical and manual tools (grinders, cutters, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Ability to pass MIG weld and oxygen/acetylene torch tests prior to hire.
Desired:
- AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent.
- Experience welding both steel and aluminum using MIG processes.
- Strong time management and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and professionalism in prior roles.
