Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for around 600 employees (primarily salaried)
- Ensure compliance across 4–5 states / multiple office locations
- Partner with Payroll Manager to transition full ownership of processing
- Audit payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clean records
- Support benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Assist with open enrollment (both backend processing + employee-facing support)
- Help communicate timelines, updates, and plan details to employees
- Participate in vendor/TPA calls and manage plan updates
- Serve as a key contact for payroll, deductions, and benefits questions
- Train new hires on payroll/benefits processes
- Handle sensitive or complex employee situations with professionalism
- Partner with HR and Accounting on reporting, compliance, and issue resolution
- Support process improvements and help take work off leadership’s plate
Qualifications:
- 2–3+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or accounting (with payroll exposure)
- Experience with multi-state payroll preferred
- Familiarity with ADP (Workforce Now) strongly preferred
- High attention to detail + strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in a high-autonomy environment
