Responsibilities:

Injection Molding

  • Lead injection molding operations and production activities.
  • Utilize strong knowledge of plastic processing and injection molding techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain product quality and maximize production output.
  • Identify processing issues and implement appropriate technical or mechanical solutions.
  • Monitor molding processes to ensure productivity, quality, and production standards are consistently achieved.
  • Escalate technical issues to Maintenance or Engineering as appropriate.

Production & Team Leadership

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
  • Monitor production KPIs and communicate performance expectations and results to production employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide timely feedback, and support employee development.
  • Motivate and develop a cohesive, high-performing production team.
  • Maintain accurate production and attendance records.
  • Make timely decisions to maintain production output and provide clear direction to production employees.
  • Understand production schedules and priorities and adjust resources as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, managers, and other departments.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and control costs.
  • Analyze and resolve production and processing issues.
  • Monitor waste and identify opportunities for reduction.
  • Work collaboratively with Process, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel to resolve operational issues.
  • Balance production demands with safety, quality, and operational requirements.

Safety

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment and ensure employees follow established safety practices.
  • Complete and report incident reports as required.
  • Conduct or participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify potential safety concerns and take appropriate action.
  • Communicate promptly with Process and Maintenance personnel when issues arise that could create safety risks.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of related manufacturing or production leadership experience.
  • Strong plastic injection molding knowledge and experience required.
  • Prior experience leading an injection molding or plastics manufacturing team preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plastic processing, injection molding equipment, and molding parameters.
  • Experience troubleshooting production and processing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of production KPIs, quality standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop production employees.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability and willingness to work on the production floor while also managing administrative responsibilities.
