Production Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze and reduce scrap while improving production efficiency and quality.
  • Promote proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform mold changes and support new mold start-ups.
  • Meet or exceed established production efficiency goals across manufacturing operations.
  • Develop weekly production schedules and coordinate tooling and mold changeovers.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, process technicians, and mold setters.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assign work and ensure production orders are started, paused, and completed appropriately.
  • Implement and maintain 6S standards to support a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to promote a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace.
  • Schedule manufacturing equipment based on capacity, production requirements, and customer delivery needs.
  • Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and goals that support overall business objectives.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of production management experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with plastic injection molding is required.
  • Hands-on manufacturing leadership experience with a willingness to work both on the production floor and in an office environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, work orders, machine capacity, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing management systems preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimal travel required.
