About the Opportunity
A highly respected, Tier-1 rated Long Island defense law firm — recognized for excellence in civil litigation and healthcare defense — is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join its expanding practice group.

The firm has built a reputation for excellence in defending complex, high-exposure medical malpractice and liability cases on behalf of hospitals, physicians, and healthcare systems throughout New York State.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of complex medical malpractice defense litigation.
- Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and medical experts.
- Draft and argue pre-trial, discovery, and dispositive motions.
- Handle court appearances and conferences independently.
- Collaborate closely with senior trial attorneys on case strategy, risk assessment, and client communications.
- Propound and respond to discovery demands, review medical records, and prepare detailed case analyses.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and co-counsel through proactive and professional communication.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Admitted to practice law in the State of New York (required).

3–8 years of experience in medical malpractice, healthcare liability, or insurance defense litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a substantial caseload with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong courtroom presence with prior motion and deposition experience.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
