Tax Senior / Light Tax Manager

A growing public accounting firm in Tampa is seeking an experienced Tax Senior or light Tax Manager to join its expanding tax practice. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys client-facing work, mentoring junior staff, and managing a broad mix of tax engagements in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have a solid public accounting tax background, strong technical skills, and the ability to prepare and review individual, partnership, S-Corp, and other entity tax returns. This role is well-suited for someone ready to take ownership of client relationships while continuing to grow into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage preparation and review of individual, partnership, S-Corp, and other entity tax returns
• Conduct tax research and develop solutions for complex client situations
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal team members
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to associates
• Help develop junior staff through mentorship and hands-on training
• Identify opportunities to bring additional firm resources to existing clients
• Support business development and firm growth initiatives
• Deliver excellent client service and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry
• CPA license required
• MST preferred, but not required
• Strong client service and communication skills
• Experience managing tax engagements and mentoring staff
• Ability to think strategically and develop practical client solutions
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Compensation:

• 100K - $125K, depending on experience
