About the Opportunity

Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI healthcare startup building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of personalized medicine. With a founding team of proven entrepreneurs, clinicians, and engineers, they’re scaling rapidly across the U.S. and backed by top-tier investors and industry leaders.

This is a unique opportunity to join as a Founding Engineer and help architect and scale the core systems that power intelligent, real-time healthcare automation. You’ll work directly with the founders and product leadership to take the company from 0→1 — designing, deploying, and optimizing production-grade AI systems and data infrastructure from scratch.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and evolve scalable data pipelines and relational models for complex medical and operational data.
• Build and deploy LLM-driven agentic search and retrieval systems.
• Design AI-native, event-driven orchestration systems to power autonomous workflows.
• Work across a modern dual backend stack (NestJS / FastAPI) and integrate seamlessly with AI SDKs and APIs.
• Optimize prompt pipelines for cost, latency, and performance.
• Build and maintain secure, type-safe RESTful APIs for both frontend and AI use cases.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and leadership teams to translate complex data needs into scalable, real-world solutions.

Tech Environment

• Backend: Python (FastAPI), TypeScript (NestJS)
• Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind
• AI & LLM Infra: OpenAI, Vercel AI SDK, BAML, LangChain, custom tool-calling frameworks
• Cloud: GCP (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub)

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years in backend, data, or ML engineering
• Deep understanding of data architecture & SQL modeling
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-based systems
• Hands-on GCP experience (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Dataflow preferred)
• Excited by the opportunity to build and scale a company from the ground up

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
• Exposure to RAG pipelines or vector database systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200 – $275K
• Equity: 0.5% – 1.5%
• Visa sponsorship available
