Customer Service Representative

Kansas City, MO | Full-Time | Onsite | $20–$22/hour

Turn Great Customer Service Into a Career You Can Get Excited About

We’re partnering with a leading national retailer in the music industry that is expanding its Kansas City customer support team and hiring multiple full-time Customer Service Representatives.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates well, and wants to join an established organization with extensive training and opportunities to develop professionally.

Previous contact center experience is not required. Strong candidates may come from customer service, retail, hospitality, restaurants, sales, or other customer-facing environments.

And while an interest in music is a plus, you do not need to be a musician or gear expert to be successful.

What You'll Do

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be one of the first points of contact for customers and play an important role in creating a positive experience.

You'll:

  • Support customers through phone, email, and chat
  • Listen to customer needs, answer questions, and resolve concerns
  • Take ownership of customer issues and work toward effective first-contact resolutions
  • Help customers navigate products, orders, musical instruments, gear, and accessories
  • Recommend additional products when they genuinely fit a customer's needs
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate notes and customer information within systems such as Salesforce
  • Learn about products, promotions, and industry trends through ongoing training
  • Collaborate with teammates to continually improve the customer experience

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are dependable, personable, and genuinely enjoy working with customers.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, restaurants, sales, or another customer-facing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence communicating with customers over the phone
  • A customer-first approach and ability to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to navigate challenging customer situations professionally
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Comfort learning new technology, systems, and processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • An interest in music and musical products

Experience in a contact center, music retail, audio production, music technology, or sales environment is helpful, but not required.

Training & Development

You'll receive extensive training designed to help you succeed.

Initial training includes approximately 6–8 weeks of development covering products, systems and processes, customer interactions, and role-specific expectations.

You don't need to walk in knowing everything — we're looking for people with the communication skills, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Schedule

This position is 100% onsite in Kansas City, Missouri.

Initial training is expected to take place Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central.

Following training, assigned schedules may include:

  • Weekday hours approximately 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
  • Saturday availability, including potential 7:00 AM–4:00 PM hours

Candidates should be comfortable with the required schedule before applying.
