Traveling Project Manager – Hospitality Renovations

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead hospitality renovation projects from preconstruction and mobilization through final turnover and closeout. The Opportunity
As Traveling Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful execution of hotel renovation and conversion projects. You will manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, documentation, change orders, and client communication while partnering closely with field Superintendents and company leadership.
Many projects take place in occupied hotels, requiring exceptional planning, communication, and coordination to minimize disruption to guests and ongoing hotel operations.
The ideal candidate understands both the operational and financial sides of construction and is comfortable taking ownership of projects from kickoff through final closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage hospitality renovation and conversion projects from preconstruction and mobilization through final turnover
- Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and critical milestones
- Coordinate closely with Traveling Superintendents and field teams to ensure successful project execution
- Manage subcontractor bidding, buyout, contracts, scopes of work, and performance
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and long-lead items
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other project documentation
- Manage change orders, cost impacts, owner requests, and subcontractor changes
- Track project costs, commitments, billing, forecasts, and overall financial performance
- Lead project meetings and provide clear communication to ownership, hotel management, subcontractors, and internal leadership
- Identify potential schedule, budget, or operational issues and proactively develop solutions
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and local authorities
- Ensure projects meet company quality standards, contract requirements, and applicable hotel brand standards
- Support field teams in maintaining OSHA and company safety requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting throughout the life of the project
- Manage punch lists, final inspections, turnover documentation, and project closeout
- Build productive long-term relationships with hotel ownership groups, management teams, subcontractors, vendors, and brand representatives
- Travel to active project sites throughout the United States as required
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience
- Hotel renovation, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or occupied-building experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple scopes, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules, contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Experience with subcontractor buyout, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, forecasting, and billing
- Experience working with major hotel brands is highly desirable
- Strong financial and cost-management skills
- Procore and Microsoft Office experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of project performance
- Comfortable working closely with field Superintendents and executive leadership
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide on a regular basis
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check

Travel Requirements
This is a traveling Project Manager position, not a traditional work-from-home role. Projects are located throughout the United States, and the selected Project Manager may live anywhere near a major airport.
