A nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm is seeking a REMOTE Senior Auditor to join its growing nonprofit practice. Role Overview
The Audit Senior will play a key role in delivering audit and accounting services to nonprofit clients. This position involves leading engagement areas, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with clients to ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform audit and review procedures for nonprofit organizations
- Develop an understanding of client operations, funding structures, and compliance requirements
- Assess risk and evaluate internal control environments
- Execute analytical procedures, substantive testing, and tests of controls
- Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues
- Prepare and review financial statements and related deliverables
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff auditors
- Participate in all phases of engagements, from planning through issuance
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years of public accounting experience, with exposure to nonprofit clients preferred
- CPA license or actively pursuing certification
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to client locations as needed
- MUST BE Based in California
