Director / VP of Marketing (B2B SaaS | Future CMO Track)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Compensation: $175K–$200K base + equity

Company Stage: Growth-stage SaaS preparing for Series A

The Opportunity

Prevail is partnering with a fast-growing B2B SaaS company that has already established strong product-market fit and is preparing for its next phase of scale.

The company has built a successful acquisition engine through industry events and referrals, and now needs a senior marketing leader to build the scalable digital demand system that will take them through Series A and beyond.

This is the first true strategic marketing hire and is designed to evolve into a CMO role as the company grows.

You will report directly to the CEO and own positioning, demand generation, paid media strategy, and funnel architecture while managing a small internal team and external partners.

This is a hands-on builder role, not a corporate marketing leadership role.

What You’ll Own

• Define and refine the company’s market positioning and messaging

• Build and scale a multi-channel demand generation engine

• Own paid media strategy, budget allocation, and performance targets

• Architect the marketing funnel and partner closely with Sales and RevOps

• Improve efficiency and ROI across existing acquisition channels

• Lead creative direction and marketing experimentation

• Use AI tooling to increase output and speed across marketing workflows

• Prepare investor-grade marketing metrics and reporting as the company scales

What Success Looks Like

• A scalable pipeline engine beyond events and referrals

• Clear positioning that resonates digitally and in market conversations

• Measurable improvement in CAC, pipeline velocity, and lead quality

• A marketing function that supports aggressive ARR growth targets

Ideal Background

• Built and owned demand generation at a B2B SaaS company ($5M–$20M ARR range preferred)

• Personally managed significant marketing budget (5 mil+) and channel allocation decisions

• Experience scaling marketing during a high-growth or funding transition stage

• Deep understanding of the relationship between marketing, sales, and RevOps

• Comfortable operating hands-on with a lean team and agency partners

• Actively uses AI tools to improve marketing output and efficiency

Strong Plus Factors

• Experience marketing into a niche or emerging B2B category

• Background in cybersecurity, IT tools, compliance tech, or vertical SaaS

• Board or investor reporting exposure

• Experience balancing event-driven and digital acquisition models

Who This Role Is Best For

This role is ideal for a senior marketing leader who:

• Has built the growth engine before

• Wants executive ownership and influence

• Thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment

• Wants a clear path to CMO

This is not a role for someone looking to learn the function for the first time or manage a large established team.
