Head of Footwear

Full-Time | Remote (U.S.)

We’re a fast-moving, customer-obsessed accessories brand that built its reputation by doing things differently. Now we’re expanding into footwear, and we’re looking for the person who will create it, shape it, and own it from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to build a category from zero inside a highly successful, digitally native consumer brand with elite marketing, a passionate community, and serious growth momentum.

You’ll work directly with executive leadership and a high-performance creative and marketing team to develop a profitable, enduring footwear line from concept to market.

Our core customer base is primarily women with a strong, loyal following—but there are no rigid creative guardrails here. This role is for a true builder with vision, taste, and operational grit.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the entire footwear program from scratch: strategy, design, development, and execution
  • Create a product line that is timeless, durable, and beautifully constructed
  • Own fit, comfort, quality, and the subtle details that define great footwear
  • Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, creative, and operations
  • Build and scale your own footwear team at the right pace
  • Lead factory relationships, costing, and production strategy end-to-end

Who You Are

  • You’ve built footwear before — not assisted, not supported — built
  • You’re hands-on: comfortable sketching, patterning, costing, and walking factory floors
  • You deeply understand leather and materials (and know when not to use leather)
  • You move fast, solve problems, and don’t wait for permission
  • You balance big vision with obsessive execution
  • You thrive in environments where things are being created, not inherited

Qualifications

  • Proven, hands-on experience taking footwear from concept to production
  • Direct factory experience (domestic and/or international)
  • Deep technical knowledge of:
  • Lasts, patterns, stitching, construction methods
  • Molds, outsoles, and structural design
  • Strong product intuition for timeless design
  • Full lifecycle product management: costing, timelines, prototyping, fit, sampling, production
  • Entrepreneurial, builder-minded personality
  • Strong communicator across design, operations, merchandising, and creative
  • Portfolio required (your work must speak for itself)

Comp & Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Large performance bonuses tied to line success, COGS, and sales
  • Comprehensive medical plans (including EAP & wellness programs)
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Paid time off
  • Product discounts
  • High-trust, high-performance environment with significant growth upside
