A well-established New Jersey law firm is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Team Lead to join its Chatham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned PI professional who enjoys taking ownership of cases, leading a team, and helping drive strong outcomes for injured clients.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling New Jersey plaintiff personal injury matters and the leadership skills to oversee a team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team handling a portfolio of plaintiff personal injury and labor law matters from intake through resolution.
- Oversee case progression, ensuring files are moving efficiently and important deadlines are met.
- Review case strategy, treatment status, damages, insurance coverage, settlement opportunities, and overall case value.
- Mentor and provide guidance to attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and support staff.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and next steps.
- Work closely with firm leadership to improve workflows, accountability, and overall team performance.
- Assist with negotiations, demands, litigation strategy, and preparation of matters for settlement or trial.
- Ensure cases are handled in accordance with firm standards and New Jersey procedural requirements.
Qualifications
- Significant experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury matters, preferably in New Jersey.
- Strong knowledge of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other negligence-based claims.
- Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or leading a legal team strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and case-management skills.
- Strong communication and client-service abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
- New Jersey litigation experience is highly preferred.
- Attorney candidates should be admitted and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.
