We are currently in search of a Development Assistant for a Housing Services Nonprofit. The position is on-site in New York, NY (Lower Manhattan). This is a Part-time, temp position.

SCHEDULE: Part-time, 15-20 hours/week on-site, 9 to 5 OR 9:30 to 5:30
DURATION: Temporary
HOURLY RATE: $24.00 - $26.00
Is This Your Dream Job? The Development Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy development department. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure fundraising efforts run smoothly through accurate gift processing, donor database management, reporting, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and enjoys supporting fundraising initiatives that make a meaningful impact.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· Experience providing administrative support within a development or fundraising department required
· Experience using a donor database or CRM system (DonorPerfect, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar) required
· Comfortable processing gifts, maintaining donor records, and running database reports required
· Experience with Microsoft Office, including Mail Merge, Excel, and Word required
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
· DonorPerfect experience strongly preferred
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Process and record charitable contributions received through a variety of fundraising channels.
· Maintain accurate donor and constituent records within the organization's donor database.
· Generate fundraising and donor reports to support the development team.
· Prepare donor acknowledgements, thank-you letters, and Mail Merge communications.
· Assist with donor segmentation, mailing lists, and campaign tracking.
· Support gift reconciliation and coordinate documentation with the finance team.
· Provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship activities, and special events.
· Assist with event logistics, registration management, sponsorship tracking, and post-event follow-up.
· Track departmental expenses, invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
Support additional development projects and perform other duties as assigned.
