We are currently in search of a Program Assistant for a Public Charity Research organization located in New York City (Chelsea). This is a Part-Time, Hybrid, Temporary (~4 months) assignment.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Public Charity Research

LOCATION: New York City (Chelsea)

POSITION TITLE: Program Assistant

DURATION: Temporary

SCHEDULE: ~30 hrs/wk.

HOURLY PAY: $23.00-25.00/hour

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Program Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:


  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
  • Ability to work independently

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:


  • Answers and transfers phone calls, screening when necessary
  • Assists with public events (catering orders, set up, etc.)
  • Maintains filing systems as assigned
  • Assists Associate Director of Public History with conference-related tasks
  • Maintains a system for recording expenses and the use of petty cash
  • Collects payment information (W9, receipts, invoices, etc.)
  • Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed
  • Records and distributes minutes or other records for meetings
  • Writes, proofreads, or edits copy related to events and assists in producing related electronic and print communications, especially using the organization's Content Management System and various marketing tools
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
