We are currently in search of a Development Writer for an International Nonprofit Organization. The position is a Part Time (~20 hrs./wk.), Fully Remote, Temporary (~4 months) opportunity.


ORGANIZATION TYPE: International Nonprofit

LOCATION: Remote   

POSITION TITLE: Development Writer

SCHEDULE: Part Time (~ 20 hrs./wk.); Flexible workdays

DURATION: Temporary (through at least the end of March 2025)

Hourly: $23-26/hr 

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Development Writer you will prepare written materials to help effectively solicit, steward, and engage the organization's growing donor base during our highest-volume seasons. You will be responsible for drafting a variety of proposals, impact reports, and mass solicitations that inspire and engage the organization's various donor audiences, with a focus on mid-level and major donors.


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience writing for a donor audience, including impact reports, grant proposals, and fundraising campaigns
  • Ability to efficiently produce inspiring, clear, and persuasive messages tailored to specific audiences to achieve a specific goal across both short-form and long-form content
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with software tools used in nonprofit fundraising, such as MS Office, Google Workspace, and fundraising CRMs.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

 

  • Draft content for a wide variety of mass donor-facing materials, such as impact reports, event invitations, timely program updates, and fundraising emails, including content tailored for the organization's Giving Societies
  • Collaborate with gift officers and leadership to draft one-to-one correspondence, grant reports, and funding proposals for major donors
  • Edit and proof-read your own and your colleague’s work, ensuring all content is free of errors, follows the organization's Style Guide, and upholds a unified brand and voice
  • Develop an understanding of THL’s programs and priorities, and liaise with colleagues across the Development Team and Programs in order to clearly communicate about the organization's programs and ensure factual accuracy.
