We are currently searching for a Operations Specialist for a Youth Development Nonprofit. The position is Hybrid in New York, NY (Upper Manhattan). This is a full-time, temp position. 

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Youth Development Nonprofit.  

LOCATION: New York, NY (Upper Manhattan) 

POSITION TITLE: Operations Specialist 

SCHEDULE: Full-time, 35 hours/week, on-site, 9:00 to 5:00 Monday - Friday 

DURATION: Temporary (1 month with the potential to extend longer) 

HOURLY RATE: $28.00 - $30.00

The Operations Coordinator reports to the organization's leadership team and plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a mission-driven nonprofit serving youth and families. In this role, you will manage program registrations, coordinate appointments and scheduling, serve as a primary point of contact for participants and families, and provide administrative support across multiple departments. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll help ensure programs run smoothly by maintaining accurate records, managing workflows across various software platforms, and supporting time-sensitive operational initiatives. If you're a highly organized, tech-savvy professional who enjoys problem-solving, wearing multiple hats, and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. 

 

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Administrative or operations experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment 
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software, CRM systems, and online platforms 
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities independently, and is flexible in supporting a variety of organizational needs 
  • Experience with registration platforms, JotForm, Canva, or document management systems is a plus 
  • Comfortable working with children and families and passionate about supporting a mission-driven nonprofit 

 

 

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

  • Manage participant registration for multiple youth programs. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for families and applicants. 
  • Coordinate interviews and appointments for new families. 
  • Support recruiting and orientation activities. 
  • Maintain registration systems and online forms. 
  • Manage administrative workflows using multiple software platforms. 
  • Provide general operations support across the organization. 
  • Assist with communications, emails, and other time-sensitive administrative projects.
