We are currently in search of a Program Operations Manager for a Racial Justice Advocacy Nonprofit. The position is On-site in Washington, DC. This is a part-time, temporary position.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Racial Justice Advocacy Nonprofit

LOCATION: Washington, DC (On-site – Navy Yard)

POSITION TITLE: Program Operations Manager

SCHEDULE: 20 hours/week

DURATION: Temporary (60-90 days with possibility of extension)

HOURLY RATE: $26.00 - $32.00

The Program Operations Manager will sit between the Executive Director and program staff to ensure day-to-day execution of programs is on track, visible, and aligned with organizational direction. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to work in a founder-led mission-driven organization with prior experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

·       2-5 years of experience in program operations or project management

·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

·       Experience in community organizing, advocacy, or direct service organizations a plus

·       Prior experience supervising or leading others

·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

·       Highly proactive and independent with effective written communication skills

·       Proficiency in software tools including Asana, Little Green Light, and Google Workspace.

·       Comfortable working in a racial equity and economic justice context

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

·       Manage and take ownership of multiple projects and operational initiatives from start to finish.

·       Coordinate logistics and ensure projects and events are successfully executed.

·       Gather information from multiple stakeholders and ensure it is organized and completed appropriately.

·       Manage projects such as database updates, information gathering, event coordination, and other operational initiatives.

·       Help provide direction and coordination to junior team members involved in projects.

·       Potentially oversee or supervise staff through collaborative projects.

·       Support broader organizational projects and ad hoc needs as they arise.
