We are currently in search of a Resident Coach & Systems Navigator for a Social Services Nonprofit. The position is full-time, hybrid, based in Washington, DC. This is a temporary opportunity.

The Resident Coach & Systems Navigator provides intensive advocacy, systems navigation, and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children in a residential housing program. This role partners with survivors to assess needs, create safety plans, identify goals, and connect with resources that help stabilize housing and promote long-term success. The position also collaborates with landlords, community organizations, and internal teams, while contributing to data collection, reporting, and continuous program improvement.


Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field preferred (or equivalent work/lived experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in case management, systems navigation, or advocacy services required
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic/sexual violence strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, safety planning, and de-escalation
  • Familiarity with housing and homelessness services, public benefits, and DMV-area resources
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish, Amharic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, or ASL) a plus
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

How You Will Spend Your Day

  • Conduct intakes, needs assessments, safety planning, and goal setting with program participants
  • Provide case management and crisis response for a caseload of ~15 survivors and families
  • Hold regular in-person meetings (including at least two in-home visits per month) and quarterly care conferences
  • Assist participants in accessing housing, benefits, healthcare, employment, childcare, and other critical resources
  • Partner with landlords and property management to resolve housing-related issues and maintain stable housing
  • Collect and maintain accurate documentation in client databases (Osnium), ensuring timely case notes and reports
  • Contribute to program reporting, evaluation, and improvement through data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and community partners to expand services and opportunities
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to urgent needs outside of core hours
  • Support teammates with trauma-informed, survivor-centered services and mentorship
  • Represent the organization at outreach, community, and program events
