We are currently in search of a Human Resources Associate for an Environmental Justice organizationThe position is a Fully Remote, Part-Time, and Temporary (~3 months) opportunity.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Environmental Justice

LOCATION: Fully Remote (with occasional travel to Oakland or Richmond if necessary)

POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Associate

SCHEDULE: Part Time (20 hrs/wk.)

DURATION: Temp (~ 3 months, but could be extended)

HOURLY RATE: $28-30/hr. DOE

 

Is This Your Dream Job? Under the supervision of the HR Director, the Human Resources Associate will take responsibility for everyday HR administration statewide, as well as managing routine operations for our current NorCal office in Richmond and our future additional office in East Oakland. Although this position is remote, you may be required to visit the office as needed.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:


  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of empathy and persistence in interactions with other staff members.
  • General working knowledge of ATS/Payroll systems, such as Paychex
  • Experience in MS Office Suite and Google Suite required
  • Residency in the Bay Area or the ability to commute to the Oakland/Richmond area is required
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to/from offices in Oakland or Richmond occasionally
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:


  • Run semi-monthly (twice-monthly) payroll for 60-80 staff using Paychex Time & Attendance and Paychex Flex software
  • Track timesheet status and time-off accruals in the internal spreadsheet for audit purposes
  • Conduct semiannual audits on timesheets and time-off accruals, and follow up with staff to ensure complete records
  • Post job announcements for positions in recruitment
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and orientation binders for new hires; mail orientation binders to new hires
  • Help with logistics around the annual open enrollment process
  • Maintain a monthly eligibility roster for mental health benefits
  • Arrange year-end staff acknowledgments/staff gifts
  • Support with calendaring/scheduling for the HR Director
