We are currently in search of a Director of Human Resources for a Social Services Organization. The position is hybrid in New York, NY. This is a full-time, permanent position.


ORGANIZATION: Community Access

LOCATION: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite)

POSITION TITLE: Director of HR

SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week

DURATION: Permanent – Direct Hire

SALARY RANGE: $125,000 - $135,000

The Director has a significant opportunity for impact, including helping to lead and build the HR department in order to best support employees across the organization with being agents of change.   


Our Ideal Candidate:

·       5-7 years in Human Resources roles

·       Leadership expertise, including developing, engaging, and supporting staff

·       A ‘builder’ who initiates improvements to internal operations

·       Exceptional customer service abilities

·       Skilled with navigating and managing multiple internal systems

·       Highly effective attention-to-detail, organization, and prioritization skills

·       Bachelors Degree required  


How You Will Spend Your Day:

·       Lead daily operations of the HR department, helping to oversee compliance, payroll, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and policy administration

·       Supervise and manage HR Generalists and a Talent Acquisition Partner (3-4 direct reports), ensuring consistent execution of departmental goals and service standards

·       Partner with the Chief People Officer to implement departmental strategy, track progress, and provide updates to senior leadership

·       Lead employee relations issues, including advising leaders on performance concerns, workplace complaints, and risk mitigation

·       Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and audits (EEO, benefits census, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, 403(b), etc.)

·       Oversee HR performance indicators, identifying trends and recommending improvements

·       Contribute to agency-wide engagement and development initiatives, including employee wellbeing and training initiatives
