We are seeking a Temporary to Permanent Full-time Development and Finance Assistant. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate gift processing, donor data integrity, and basic accounting support. This is a Hybrid, Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent role.

LOCATION: New York City ( Financial District) 

POSITION TITLE: Development and Finance Assistant

SCHEDULE: 30-40 hours/week - MTW in office, Th, F Remote

DURATION: asap start. Temporary to Permanent

Pay- $24/hr - $26/hr

 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 1–2 years of experience using Raiser’s Edge, including gift processing
  • 1–2 years of bookkeeping experience, including reconciliations
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative nonprofit environment
  • Prior experience with direct mail fundraising
  • Strong skills in data import/export and basic formulas within Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage sensitive information with discretion, and strong organizational skills.Experience in development/fundraising




How You Will Spend Your Day:

●      Process all organization contributions, including mail, online, direct deposit/ACH, credit/debit card, and grant funds.

●      Reconcile fundraising and program income in coordination with Development and Finance departments.

●      Maintain data hygiene, assist in the creation of data management processes, and participate in regular upkeep of the donor database.

●      Perform mail merges, data sorting, and editing documents.

●      Assist with email and direct mail appeals for special events and follow up activities.

●      Process donor acknowledgement letters.

●      Assist with monthly membership renewal notices and acknowledgments.

●      Assist with online fundraising campaigns including updates on the website.

●      Respond to email, mail, and phone inquiries from members and donors.

●      Assist in the production of special mailings as needed.

●      Produce reports on membership and major gifts, as requested.

●      Maintain the recurring gift program.

●      Schedule and create minutes of meetings with staff, board, and/or Chancellors.

●      Assist with managing supplies and orders.  

●      Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
