We are currently in search of a Controller for a Non-profit, Professional Association. The position is Hybrid in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, permanent position.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Professional Association

LOCATION: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

POSITION TITLE: Controller

SCHEDULE: Full Time

DURATION: Permanent

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $125,000

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Controller will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Center’s Management Team. The Controller will produce consolidated management reports in accordance with GAAP, lead the audit process and will be responsible for ensuring all accounting functions are performed in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative and can lead others with integrity and a commitment to lifelong learning.

 

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

·       5+ years senior level accounting and supervisory experience required

·       BS in Finance or Accounting required

·       Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP

·       Experience with Sage Intacct

·       Non-profit experience required

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

·       Implement and enforce adherence to all accounting policies and procedures, periodically reviewing, updating and/or developing policies as needed.

·       Oversee revenue reconciliation process and process accounts receivable, ensuring general ledger accuracy.

·       Increase organizational accounting/financial management capacity and effectiveness through proactive communication, training, and coaching.

·       Incorporate technology to improve efficiency and functionality of vendor payments and employee reimbursements.

·       Work closely with Chief Financial Officer to manage relationships, auditors, and external accounting advisors.

·       Develop and foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders

·       Provide accounting expertise and analysis to support operational and programmatic objectives.

·       Work directly with the Senior Management Team to support the Board and Finance Committee.

·       Mentor and coach non-financial team members to ensure accuracy across all departments.
